IPS holds elections for officers every two years and board members* every 2 or 3 years.

2019 Election: IPS Board Members

The board consists of the elected officers (elected separately, not in this ballot) and nine board members: two from each of the Asia, Europe and North America continental zones, and one from each of the Africa, Oceania and South America zones. The number of board members has been determined on the basis of the number of IPS members in each zone.*

The 2019 election voting concluded December 2.

IPS is pleased to announce the results of the recent election for the first members of the new governing board. These new board members will begin their terms at the Edmonton conference in June. They are:

  • Africa: Suann Murabana
  • Asia: Sumito Hirota and Jin Zhu
  • Europe: Bj√∂rn Voss and Jiri Dusek
  • Latin America: Alexandre Cherman
  • North America: Dayna Thompson and Michele Wistisen
  • Oceania: Martin George

In addition, IPS would like to sincerely thank all the candidates that stood in these elections. We very much appreciate your willingness to serve your organization. Thanks also go out to the Elections Committee for all its efforts in carrying out this election.
Current IPS council members will continue in their roles until the Edmonton meeting. We owe them a debt of gratitude for their continued service.

* The number of board members for the zones are:
1 for zones with fewer than 50 current IPS members;
2 for zones with between 50 and 499 current IPS members; and
