IPS holds elections for officers every two years and board members every 2 or 3 years.
The 2020 IPS Elections
Nominations have now closed for the positions of President Elect, Secretary and Treasurer for 2021-22. Voting will begin on October 1.
Nominations have been accepted for the three positions as follows:
President Elect: Michael McConville (USA)
Secretary: Patty Seaton (USA)
Treasurer: Nigel Betts (UK), Eric Melenbrink (USA), and Michael Smail (USA).
Although two of the above positions have members who are running unopposed, I ask all IPS members to go through the voting process for all three positions. As in the past several years, this will be done electronically.
To replace the speech that would have been made at the IPS Conference, all who are standing for positions will shortly be submitting video file of a 3-minute speech and a written statement (with a photograph), all of which will be accessible to all members via a link on this page.
It is important to note that this election is quite separate from the election of Board Members, which took place near the end of 2019.
Note that the terms of office for Secretary and Treasurer are two years each (with a maximum of three consecutive terms) and that the office of President Elect will be followed by two years as President in 2023-24 and two years as Past President in 2025-26.
