Public Directory of Planetariums
and Planetarium-Related Businesses

The IPS system for its Directory of Planetariums and Planetarium-Related Businesses is now integrated with this website.
Try putting your name in the field "Name" of the Directory Search Form to see if you are already in the IPS Directory!
Contributors may update their Directory information at any time with password protected sign-in access to the site. This is compliant with latest privacy and data protection regulations.

Here is how to be in the IPS Directory of Planetariums
and Planetarium-Related Businesses:

...you are probably already in the Directory. Check this by doing a search at https://www.ips-planetarium.org/search/custom.asp?id=5205.
You can update and round out your Directory entry in three easy steps:

  1. Sign in (https://www.ips-planetarium.org/login.aspx).
    [If after signing in, you see the prompt, "Securely renew your membership now" or "Renew your membership now", click on that to renew your membership—editing your profile information is part of that process.]
  2. If you don't need to renew, just click on the "Bio" tab, and
  3. Edit your planetarium or business data in Professional, Personal, or More Public Directory Info categories. You may set the privacy of any given item as Private, Public, or IPS Members Only.

Pay special attention to the "More Public Directory Info" section and in particular, be sure to put appropriate text in the "Planetarium or Business Name" field. Don't forget to click that Save button when you are done updating your profile.

...you can easily renew. Just follow the instructions at https://www.ips-planetarium.org/page/renew. In the process, you automatically are given the opportunity to update your profile, which is the information you provide for the IPS Directory also.

Pay special attention to the "More Public Directory Info" section and in particular, be sure to put appropriate text in the "Planetarium or Business Name" field.

...see categories of membership on the how-to-join page - https://www.ips-planetarium.org/page/howtojoin. Two categories do not require payment of dues: "Public Directory Only" and "Associate".

To help you decide on what category of membership is best for you, see the benefits of membership page - https://www.ips-planetarium.org/page/benefits.

Decide on a category and join (https://www.ips-planetarium.org/general/register_member_type.asp?).

By joining, you are automatically included in the IPS Directory of Planetariums and Planetarium-Related Businesses—in the joining process you enter data that you want to have in the IPS Directory.

Members in any category can decide what information to is available to the public, what is available to members only, or what information to keep private. To control that, beside each field look for an icon that you can click on to set the privacy of that field:

padlock iconPadlock icon means "Private" (only IPS administrators can view);

unlocked padlock iconUnlocked Padlock icon means "Public" (that information is available to the public);

person iconPerson icon means that field can be seen by "IPS Members Only"
