The next Kavli Fulldome Lecture, the global domecasts from the Adler Planetarium, will be about climate change. The speaker, Dr. Daniel P. Schrag, is the director of the Harvard University Center for the Environment.
The domecast is titled "The Once and Future Earth: Perspectives on a Global Challenge” and it will be held on May 9.
We are currently in the development stage for this domecast, and Dr. Schrag is thinking creatively about how we could the planetarium. For example, carbon dioxide concentrations are now 45% higher than preindustrial levels, but it is a colorless, odorless gas, not something we notice. But what if we could see carbon dioxide that glowed red? In that case the change we see would be alarming.
