From the airports:
The are two airports in Warsaw. The main one, Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport, is situated in the southwest part of Warsaw, a mere 10 km from the city centre, with very good onward transportation options including taxis (just 40-50 PLN to the city centre), buses and trains.
The second is Warsaw Modlin Airport located 35 km north-west from Warsaw. Ryanair flights tend to be the only flights arriving here. Warsaw Modlin Airport is connected with the city centre by taxi services (160 PLN to the city centre) and the Modlin Buses frequently operating between the airport and Warsaw Center bus stop.
There are three train stations in Warsaw that handle international and domestic train traffic:
Warszawa Centralna (Central Warsaw) (Aleje Jerozolimskie 54) – situated in the city centre and very well connected to all of the city's districts.
Warszawa Zachodnia (West Warsaw) (Aleje Jerozolimskie 144) – adjacent to a neighbouring international bus terminal.
Warszawa Wschodnia (East Warsaw) (Lubelska 1) – located on the east side of Vistula River (Praga).

The main access roads to Warsaw are sections of three principal European routes:
route E77 – a north-south European route which runs through Central Europe
route E67 – a north-south European route which connects Central Europe with Scandinavia

Foreign delegates entering the Republic of Poland must have a valid passport (excl. members of the Schengen Area). Participants requiring a visa for Poland, or a transit visa, are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate consular authorities as early as possible.

Warsaw lies within the Central European Time Zone (GMT +1), with summer time from March to the end of October (GMT +2).
Warsaw’s climate is humid continental (Koppen Dfb) with relatively cold winters and mild summers.
The average temperature is −5°C (27°F) in February and 18°C (66.7°F) in June. Temperatures may often reach 30°C (86°F) in the summer and –20°C (–4°F) in winter.
The currency in Poland is the Polish złoty (abbreviated as “PLN” or “zł”), which is subdivided into 100 groszy.
The Polish power supply has a voltage of 230V with a frequency of 50 Hz. Standard two-pole Europlugs are used.
All countries with whom Poland holds diplomatic relations have embassies in Warsaw.
In Warsaw smoking is prohibited at all public transportation stops and shelters as well as all clubs, pubs and restaurants unless they have a separate room for smokers. There is a fine for not respecting this.
Moreover, alcohol may not be consumed in public places (parks, squares, streets, etc.), with the exception of specially permitted areas such as gardens and patios in restaurants and pubs. There is a fine for not respecting this as well.
Getting around Warsaw
The Copernicus Science Centre is situated in the very heart of the city, therefore travelling on foot is the best way to experience the city's atmosphere. Reaching other, often distant parts of the city is easier by public transport, with convenient links to any location within Warsaw as well as further afield – to the city's suburbs. Public transport
in Warsaw consists of myriad bus, tram, and metro connections and enables passengers to navigate the city comfortably and swiftly 24h a day. Many public transport vehicles are well-adjusted to accommodate the disabled.
system in Warsaw now consists of two lines. The Copernicus Science Centre is fortunate to have its own station (called “Centrum Nauki Kopernik”) along the route of the newer line, proudly opened in March 2015, connecting the east and west of the city. The other, longer line connects the northern and southern parts of the city.

Using your own car in Warsaw can be somewhat troublesome (as in any city), especially in the city centre, where a pay-and-display parking zone has been introduced.
