IPS Slide Service
One of our most valuable resources is the stunning repertoire of
images available from the Hubble Space Telescope, from interplanetary
spacecraft, and from large ground-based telescopes. The IPS slide
service provides the best of these images to subscribing planetarians
at a nominal cost. This service was inaugurated with HST in 1995
and with JPL in 1997.
You can subscribe to the IPS slide service by using the subscription
form
available here or on your membership renewal form. Both IPS members
and non-members may subscribe. Order forms must be received by January
15, 2004 if you want to subscribe for the next service period.
The next service period will begin on March 1, 2004 and will run
for an
indefinite time until we have provided $39 worth of slides to subscribing
IPS members. Then the second service period will begin. This method
will give us the flexibility to handle a variable flux of images
while keeping
the costs as economical as possible.
We also thank Anita Sohus at JPL and John Stoke at STScI
and their co-workers for their enthusiastic and continuing cooperation
and support for this service. Through a recent agreement with STScI,
subscribers to the direct IPS service will receive first-generation
slides from HST!
