Planetarium Resources

There are a wide number of resources available to planetaria. What are they and where can they be found? This section provides an overview on what is currently available, including a worldwide vendor list and lists of educational resources. Vendors can update their listing in the IPS Resource Directory using the online Resource Directory Update Form. Planetarians can take the IPS Survey of the World´s Planetariums (download a copy in Adobe PDF format). If you don't have Adobe Acrobat® reader, get a copy at the Adobe website.

IPS Resource Directory (members only)
Where does one find a show kit for a children's school show, information on a replacement star projector, or what new laser projection systems are available? Look here for a listing, which is separated by categories of products. Please note: this listing of vendors does not imply endorsement of any specific company, product, or service on the part of the International Planetarium Society. It is provided for informational purposes only. This feature of the IPS website is a benefit for IPS members only—longin and password required. If you have forgotten your login and password, contact the IPS Treasurer to confirm your membership status.

Educational Resources
Some planetarians make their proven educational resources available to other facilities. Perhaps that next great class exercise that you've been looking for use in the classroom, or planetarium, is located here.

Full Dome Resources
Get a handle on the exciting new technology of full dome video that is taking hold of the planetarium world.

IPS Video Disk
The use of videos has become a staple of the modern planetarium theater. Besides commercially-available collections on video disk, IPS too has begun to offer video material.
