Sharing with others in the field
Just as there are many different planetariums around the globe, there also are so many different creative people and ways you can share your talents, skills, and ideas with others in the planetarium field.
IPS membership is not required to take part in any of these opportunities, although we welcome you to join IPS to take advantage of all of our benefits. Go to How to Join IPS to learn more.
In addition to these opportunities, IPS members also are encouraged and welcomed to become involved in IPS Committees.

The International Day of Planetaria is celebrated each year on the Sunday before or after the spring equinox. Organized in 1990, the day is marked by planetariums throughout Europe, and recently has been joined by domes in Australia and the United States.
Submit articles to
Planetarian, the quarterly journal of the International Planetarium Society, accepts a wide range of articles dealing with any of the diverse topics that are of interest to planetarians. We especially are looking for submissions for "How We Do It" (tips and tricks to make your work life easier), and "Under One Dome," which showcases different planetariums around the globe.
For an idea of the types of articles, browse back issues in Planetarian Archives, and check the Guidelines for Contributors.
We also welcome articles on best practices. Educational research papers also are sought, and will be professionally reviewed if so requested by the author.
