Function: To facilitate communication between the programmers, manufacturers, owners and operators of full-dome video graphics systems in planetariums, and to provide structure and guidance for the application of these advanced technologies within the planetarium environment.
For planetarians interested in fulldome video technology, please see the IPS Fulldome Resource page.
We’re working on plans for the 2008 IPS Conference in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Please contact Ryan Wyatt if you’re interested in assisting with preparations or have specific concerns you’d like to see addressed. The big event in Chicago actually takes place immediately after the conference. Fulldome Summit at IPS 2008: The Future of Fulldome will take place on 3 July 2008 at Regency McCormick Place, crossing over with and blending into DomeFest at the Adler Planetarium. For more information on the Summit, please see the Summit page on this site. Registration for the Summit (not DomeFest) is free to those attending the conference; however, we need you to register at the DomeFest registration page, where you can also sign up (and pay for) the evening events. Yes, it’s a little confusing, but thanks for bearing with us.
