IPS Ad Hoc Committee: Planetarium Development Committee Planetarium Development Group I. Function of the Committee To develop written suggested guidelines for the development of new planetariums. II. Accomplishments of the Committee Work on the planetarium guidebook continues to make slow progress. Sandro Gomes formerly of the Rio de Janeiro Planetarium has completed the first draft of the chapter on sound systems and sound studios. Thanks Sandro! Work on the chapter on domes is about 50% completed. I still have need of volunteer authors for the chapters on renovation, special effects/multi-image, and participatory planetaria. I anyone wishes to volunteer for these, or suggest someone to approach, please contact Ken at the e-mail below. III. Future Goals of the Committee To continue to seek volunteers and reviewers for unassigned chapters. To complete chapters that are in progress and post them on the IPS web site. IV.
