Telescope is looking for a home

Dear IPS Members,

Swarthmore College searching for a new home for its long-focus refracting telescope made by the John A. Brashear Company of Pittsburgh and installed at the Sproul Observatory. The classic telescope dates to 1911 and has a wonderful history, having been involved in the earliest claims for the detection of an exoplanet by means of observing Barnard’s Star. It could be a wonderful asset for education at a planetarium or science center.
